When Miia Tuomisto and her husband began looking for a glass pavilion for their garden, their goal was clear: it had to be elegant, built to last and truly high quality. Lightweight structures were never an option, as their durability simply didn't inspire confidence.
"At first, we considered building one ourselves, but we also explored the ready-made options on the market. We had seen too many lightweight pavilions that looked worn out after only a few years."
The right solution appeared almost by chance when they came across a Lucia Glass Pavilion that was on display after a trade fair in Pernaja.
"We fell in love with it immediately. It was exactly what we had been looking for – solid, elegant and beautifully crafted. It blended perfectly with our garden, both in terms of its architecture and colour."
Originally, the idea was simply to extend the outdoor season into spring and autumn. In reality, the Lucia Glass Pavilion transformed the way the family uses their garden.
"What surprised us most was how often we use it. At first, we thought we'd mainly spend time there on rainy summer days, but it has truly become an extension of our living room."
Today, the pavilion is enjoyed throughout the year. During winter, ceiling-mounted infrared heaters and a portable gas heater create a warm and inviting atmosphere, while in summer the fully opening glass walls seamlessly connect the pavilion with the surrounding garden.
"We've celebrated Christmas, New Year's Eve, birthdays and garden parties there, but we've also spent countless peaceful everyday evenings together. The pavilion adapts effortlessly to different occasions, and that's exactly what makes it so functional."
One of Miia's favourite features is its versatility.
"All the glass walls open completely, making it incredibly easy to rearrange the furniture and refresh the interior. I change the décor with the seasons – light and fresh in summer, cosy with candles in autumn, and transformed into a warm Christmas living room during winter. I love how the space evolves throughout the year."
The delivery experience left just as strong an impression as the pavilion itself.
"Our terrace was already in place, and the delivery was carried out with incredible professionalism. The pavilion was lifted over the house by crane and positioned perfectly onto the terrace. Everything was adjusted and finished on site, the protective coverings were removed, and it was ready to use almost immediately. It was genuinely impressive to watch."
The Lucia Glass Pavilion has become far more than an additional building – it feels like it has always belonged there.
"The first thing everyone says is how perfectly it fits into our garden. It attracts a lot of admiration and curiosity."
Its carefully considered architecture and expansive glass surfaces blend naturally into the surroundings, enhancing rather than dominating the landscape.
